Reality Unbound: The Digital Mind (and the Nature of Reality) explored not only reality but whether AI embodies what I call, “Digital (or Virtual) consciousness.” The suggestion is not that AI is alive in a biological sense, but whether the sum of its computational activity is a form of mental aliveness? I watched a CNN interview between Anderson Cooper and Nobel Peace Prize winning scientist , Geoffrey Hinton, whose work on statistical algorithms gave rise to LLM generative AI and agentic AI, where Hinton essentially and very publicly acknowledges, that AI may be sentient or self-aware. In fact, he called these programs, AI “Alien Beings” in the interview.
